The Group

Honiton Community Theatre Company is a friendly group who perform a pantomime in February and other plays, musicals and variety shows throughout the year.  Our home is now firmly set at The Beehive community centre where we rehearse and produce our shows.  We have a membership of around 70 people every year, all of whom are keen to help in all aspects of the productions, be it on the stage or working hard in the wings. We have a great team making scenery, costumes and props, as well as organising sound, lighting, make-up and the front of house.

Our Members

We have a wide age range of members (some at 9, some at 109!) and we are always looking for new people to join our ranks. Even if you only want to make the tea and some new friends, we’re always keen for fresh faces to get stuck in. In order to ensure everyone has an equal opportunity for a part in the performance, auditions are held for every new show. The chorus in our larger shows is available to everyone and is a great way to get stuck in, especially if your not too confident yet, but really want to try something new. Our directors are usually found from within the members, and all have had fabulous times producing wonderful shows.

When and Where

We usually rehearse on Sundays and Thursdays, and have various performances of shows. In 2015 for the first time our production of ‘Sleeping Beauty‘ was produced at The Beehive in Honiton, a purpose built arts and community centre. We always have exciting plans for the future with 3 or sometimes 4 productions being planned for each year.
